Iberia’s Trout

Scientists anticipate that before the end of this century trout may have disappeared entirely from the Iberian Peninsula. As climate change slowly warms the rivers in the south west of Europe, trout will cease to tolerate their environment dying out slowly from what is an ancient and unique ecosystem. If researchers have it right, whether to protect decimated stocks or because there are no trout remaining, within a couple of generations trout fishing in Spanish rivers will be gone.
